I use this to combine my recording files, because I use the automatic splitting feature in obs to split my video files and keep them under 1hr each. If they are too long, it takes too long to sort through and open and work with the files.

I also use Avidemux to quickly convert the .mkv recording files from obs to .mp4 if needed. This is MUCH FASTER than rendering it through a video editor program, but the fastest way, you don’t really need avidemux, you can just change the file extension from .mkv to .mp4 when you edit the filename, and it should work!!

I also use AVIDEMUX as a super lightweight video editor.

If I only need to remove a portion of the beginning or the end of a video recording from obs, this is the fastest way, again, because it does not have to re-render the entire video file like your favorite video editor program does when you render/export your video from the timeline. This is just going to be much faster, just remember, when you edit a file, make sure to match the same output format to the file you are working on, so if it is .mkv keep your file format output saving as .mkv because that’s how it will be able to save the video more quickly. This is primarily what I use Avidemux for, quick clip trimming of a video. And then, I can export it super quick!!!
